For inclusion in our upcoming themed issue, FOOD X IDENTITY (No. 43), we invite 2SQ+BIPOC artists to submit work that explores food(s) in relation to racial, queer, gendered, etc. identities and bodies.
Questions you may want to consider:
- How does food relate to your (racialized, queer, gendered, etc.) identity?
- What do certain foods evoke in your body?
- What food memories are stored in your DNA?
- How do you gender(bend) recipes in order to pass down or start new legacies?
- What do you hunger for?
You may submit up to 6 pages of poetry, single-spaced, but please include all the pages in a single document with 1-inch margins on all sides.
In your cover letter, please include your name and full contact information (including your current mailing address). For this special issue, we would like to hold space for 2SQ+BIPOC artists, and ask submitters to self-identify in their short (50 words max) bio.
Please also indicate whether your submission has been simultaneously submitted elsewhere. After sending us your work, please wait at least six months before submitting again.
